The Wave

Secure your golden ticket at the permit office right beside Venture Base, where the lottery unlocks swirling sandstone canvases few ever witness. Though this strenuous desert trek demands endurance (guides navigate but can’t bypass permits), conquering its ochre waves rewards you with Earth’s rarest gallery.

This amazing place requires a permit to hike, you'll need to get the permit on your own in advance.

Sand Caves

If you are coming from the North, you will drive right by some sand caves that are visible from the main road coming into Kanab. It is a steep hike up some rocks, but small kids can do it with supervision. It only takes about 30 minutes round trip depending on how long you stay in the caves.
